> Top 5 Questions About Verifying Degrees

  1. Why do you have my degree information?

DegreeVerify is a service of the National Student Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization, which provides educational reporting, verification and other services to colleges and universities throughout the U.S. As the authorized legal representative of its participating educational schools, the Clearinghouse is considered a primary source for enrollment, degree and attendance data and confirms this data on behalf of its participating schools to requestors without additions or changes.

  2. I received a degree, why wasn't I able to verify it?

Most requests are confirmed instantly. When a degree isn't verified, it's usually due to one of the following reasons:

    • Your degree is new. It can take several weeks after they are awarded before new degrees are posted and available for verification. If you submit a request to verify your degree BEFORE it is posted, you will not get an immediate confirmation. Instead, DegreeVerify will automatically send a request on your behalf to your school to verify your degree. As soon as the school adds your degree to our system, you will receive your verification via email.
    • You submitted incorrect information and/or selected the wrong school. Check your information and, if the student and school information provided in the request were incorrect, submit your request again with the corrected information.
    • Your record has a hold or privacy block on it. Contact your school to find out how to have the hold or privacy block removed so your degree can be released for verification.
  3. Is grade point average (GPA) provided?

No. Schools do not provide GPAs to the Clearinghouse.

  4. Can I use a debit card to pay for my verification?

Yes. Verifications can be purchased with a valid Visa or MasterCard debit card.

  5. Do you have a refund policy?

Refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, please contact us. Please include:

    • Your DegreeVerify transaction ID (located on your credit card receipt email)
    • Your name
    • Your school's name
